Chapter Submission Terms

These terms govern the application and editorial-review stage for Unplugged Secrets of Advertising II. They do not serve as a publishing agreement.

Submitting an application asks the editorial team to consider your materials. It does not guarantee acceptance or publication, create a contributor relationship, require payment, or sign the draft Author Agreement.

1. Your application

You are applying to be considered as a contributing author for Unplugged Secrets of Advertising II. You confirm that the contact, professional and chapter information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

The editorial team may contact you to discuss your proposal, request clarification or revisions, or invite you to the next stage. It may also decide not to progress an application. Submission alone does not guarantee inclusion in the book.

2. Rights and permissions

By submitting your chapter, photograph and supporting information, you confirm that:

  • you own or control the rights needed to submit the materials for private editorial review;
  • you have obtained permission for quotations, photographs, stories, names or other material owned by or identifying another person where permission is required;
  • the submission is not plagiarised and does not knowingly infringe copyright, trade mark, privacy, confidentiality or other rights;
  • the submission is not knowingly false, defamatory, obscene, unlawful or likely to cause harm through instructions you present as safe or reliable; and
  • you have not included trade secrets or confidential information that you are not permitted to disclose.

3. Permission to review

You permit the Unplugged Secrets editorial team to receive, privately store, copy and review the submitted materials for the purpose of administering and evaluating your application, communicating with you, and keeping an application record.

These Submission Terms do not transfer ownership of your chapter or photograph and do not grant permission to publish them in the book. If you are invited to contribute, publication rights and obligations must be set out in a separate final agreement accepted by the relevant parties.

4. File and content standards

The application service accepts:

  • one chapter in DOC, DOCX or PDF format, no larger than 20 MB; and
  • one colour author photograph in JPG, PNG or WebP format, no larger than 15 MB and at least 1500 × 2100 pixels in either orientation.

These file formats and limits are service rules for this website. The supplied chapter guide recommends approximately 2,500 words, allowing roughly 250 words either side, and the supplied photo document asks for 300 dpi at 5 × 7 inches or larger. The editorial team may request a replacement file or revisions if a submission cannot be opened, reviewed, edited or prepared for production.

5. Privacy and contact

The contact information, chapter and photograph you provide will be used to administer and review your Book II application, maintain an application record, and communicate with you about the submission. Uploaded files are kept in private storage and are made available to authorised administrators through the protected site area.

Please do not include sensitive personal information that the editorial team does not need to assess your application. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

6. Withdrawing an application

You may ask to withdraw your application by emailing launch@unpluggedsecrets.com from the email address used in the application. The team may need to keep limited administrative records where reasonably required, but withdrawal ends active editorial consideration unless you later apply again.

7. Related documents

The Chapter Writing Guide and Author Photo Requirements describe the supplied editorial and image guidance. The Author Agreement page reproduces the substantive text of a supplied draft that contains unresolved reviewer comments. Acknowledging that page confirms only that you have seen its draft status. It does not execute the agreement or bind you to its terms.

8. The version that applies

The application records the version of these terms accepted at submission. If these terms are updated, a later version will be identified by a new effective date and record reference.
